Each week, an extract from the book will be unveiled, presenting you with an exclusive portrayal of one of these women.

First extract: a male viewpoint

“What truly struck me about this book, beyond the ideas it raises, was the passion and optimism inherent in women that it nurtures. The sociologist inside me was expecting their usual views on compassion, peace, the environment, healthcare and education. Yes, women are committed to developing great and noble undertakings, yet, if we are so tempted to place our confidence in them, it is primarily because they instill in us a desire for the future. And that is of inestimable value.

The future of women lies before us, as they say, and the future of humanity lies with them. Their words testify to this unfolding future, to resolutely positive thinking, open even to idealistic pursuits, so rarely seen today. Women believe the game is worth playing, and they are all eager to participate, even at seventy-five, if I believe what is quoted.”
