Tom Kurimura Audit & assurance, Director
After graduating from university, Tom joined the Nomura Research Institute (NRI). At NRI, Tom worked as a research analyst, supporting the analysis of senior economists. In 1996, Tom moved to the United States and worked for auditing firms over 25 years where he held ultimate responsibility as a client relationship partner. His main areas of focus included US GAAP and IFRS financial statement audits, development and review of internal controls, streamlining and expediting financial closing processes, financial and tax due diligence, M&A, PMI, and other related fields. He oversaw teams and projects, building relationships with numerous Japanese companies operating in the United States.
In 2006, Tom left KPMG and joined Hotta Liesenberg Saito, where he served as a managing partner, contributing to the expansion of businesses in the Midwest of the United States. Later, in 2015, he joined Plante Moran as a partner for the Japanese Business Services, where he acted as a business leader in Michigan and Indiana, focusing on staff development and expanding new businesses. After working as a Managing Director at Frontier Management, Tom joined Forvis Mazars in October 2023.
Also Tom gave lectures on topics such as cost-margin intelligence and the future of the automotive industry and mobility in the United States.
