Maximilien Rouer

Maximilien Rouer is a scientist (master's degree in Cell Biology and Physiology) from the Université Paris Cité and an engineer (AgroParisTech). He began his career at PwC in the environment department before setting up his own consulting firm, BeCitizen, in 2000. A leader in sustainability strategies until its sale in 2015, since 2005 he has been developing the positive economy: economic models, products and services with a positive impact on the planet. He led more than 150 missions for eighty key accounts (including Agro, Energy and Construction). From 2006 to 2012, BeCitizen will be a subsidiary of the Edmond de Rothschild Group, with whom they will develop three private equity funds focused on environmental regeneration (for 300 Meuros AUM) and an AM fund focused on the environment (1.5mrds EUR AUM).

Maximilien has been a key player in the emergence and structuring of the sustainability market, through various public mandates (Conseil National du Développement durable as early as 2003, Haute Autorité Environnementale in 2008, Vice-Chairman of AFNOR's Conseil d'Orientation Stratégique Agro in 2022) and private mandates (co-founder of HEC's Master in Sustainability and Social Innovation in 2003, founding member of the Fabrique Ecologique think tank in 2012, founding Chairman of the Conseil National de la Résilience Alimentaire in 2020, Chairman of the Regen School Strategic Council from 2023, Vice-Chairman of the BPI I-lab jury since 2018), as well as nearly 1,000 conferences and hundreds of articles and articles in the media.

Maximilien was General Secretary of Terrena in 2016, a multi-purpose agricultural cooperative with 20,000 employees, before creating and managing La Note Globale, a CSR food rating agency. Before joining Forvis Mazars, he was a consultant at AXA Climate.

He is the author of several books, including 80 Hommes pour changer le monde (2005, Ed. JC Lattès), Réparer la planète, la révolution de l'économie positive (2007, ibid), Des Agriculteurs à la reconquête du monde (2015 ibid), and France Bleu Blanc Vert, 3 solutions pour s'adapter au changement climatique (2024, Ed L'ADN).

In 2023, he decided to join Forvis Mazars to create the MU “Regenerative Business Models” and help companies rethink their business models, offers and products to survive in this “burning” world and become real positive contributors to the planet.
