James Smalley Managing Partner Sutton – Accounting & Outsourcing

James leads our International Financial Outsourcing team, where he supports a wide variety of organisations looking to set up in the UK with their compliance needs. Whether a business is looking to outsource part or all of its finance function, James and his team are able to support to ensure that reporting is enhanced and compliance obligations are met.

He is also the Office Managing Partner for Sutton (South London), building an internationally diverse team to support our clients.

Experience 

James has over 25 years of experience supporting organisations across many sectors with the optimisation of their finance function. James has advised on and implemented outsourced finance function solutions for businesses ranging from small high-growth start-ups to large established multi-national corporates. These solutions range from full outsourcing of the finance function, through interim support to specific delivery of compliance needs.

He has a passion for technology and how it can be used to support our processes and spends time reviewing and ensuring we have the best technology available to our team and clients. His team has specialist knowledge in many accounting platforms and can also offer a fully outsourced finance function delivered on Xero or NetSuite depending on the complexity of your needs.

Work Highlights 

James has been heavily involved in the introduction of our technology stack used within our financial outsourcing team, and over the years has been at the forefront of adopting new technology, whether moving the finance function to the cloud with Xero, automating the AP function through OCR technology or through the development of a partnership with NetSuite.

He has supported many clients with their finance function and is most proud of his work supporting a high-growth international technology company set up a finance shared service centre in the UK to support its pre-revenue operations outside of the US. Following the launch of the product he then supported the migration in-house of the SSC and on-going last mile compliance support in each local country.
